River Stour Trust (River Stour Trust)

The River Stour Trust (RST) is a registered charity (No. 257806), led by volunteers dedicated to the restoration and conservation of the Suffolk/Essex River Stour Navigation (between Brundon Mill, upstream of Sudbury to Cattawade, near Manningtree) for the benefit and enjoyment of the public.  

The Stour name derives from a Saxon origin meaning “strong or mighty river”. The RST was formed in 1968 to present its own strong and mighty case at the House Of Lords to stop the proposed closure of navigation on this historic river. 

We are proud that so many can enjoy our beautiful river thanks to the dedication and efforts of past, present and future RST members.
