Relicore

Relicore is an archival-first documentary channel exploring the hidden infrastructure of modern life: the standards, interfaces, and rule-systems that forced order onto a chaotic world and made the late twentieth century scalable.

Each episode follows a quiet turning point: a moment when a specific connector, format, lockout chip, storage medium, or network protocol became the universal default. Built from technical manuals, patent filings, and the licensing fights and alliances that decided which standards won.

Production includes independent research, professional script editing, and collaborations with working journalists.

Calm, engineered storytelling about the format wars, copy protection, and corporate mechanics that quietly standardized our reality. Topics include consumer electronics history, computing standards, audio and video formats, networking protocols, and the patent and licensing systems that shaped them.
