Put the Guidebook Down

Most travel content tells you where to go. This channel asks what travel does to you.

Put the Guidebook Down is a modern travel psychology channel that explores the intersection of travel, memory, identity, and modern culture. No itineraries. No "top 10" lists. Just the questions most travel creators ignore.

Why do some trips change you and others don't? Is solo travel transforming you or just distracting you? And when every destination becomes content, are we still capable of experiencing a place for ourselves?

I'm Kiara, a linguist, former Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, and someone who's lived in Moldova, Indonesia, and places the influencer feeds skip. My work explores slow travel, living abroad, and the psychology of how moving through the world reshapes who you are.
