The Postpartum Academy South Africa

The Postpartum Academy South Africa was born from Ubuntu Mama, a South African not for profit organisation dedicated to making quality postpartum care more accessible to mothers across the country.

The Academy was created to address a critical need: training more Postpartum Care Providers to support South African families. We partner with experienced maternal health professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed education that equips women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build meaningful careers in postpartum care.

Our flagship Postpartum Care Provider Training Programme is led by Jacky Bloemraad-de Boer, an experienced midwife and maternal healthcare professional with more than 30 years of experience in South Africa and the Netherlands.
