First established in 1982, the Department of Land Surveying and Geospatial Science (LSGS) is the only academic unit among local tertiary institutions that focuses on the acquisition, modelling, analysis, and management of spatially referenced data for a wide range of applications in the field of land surveying, geo-information and underground utility surveying. Over the past decades, the Department has trained thousands of high quality graduates for Hong Kong, the nation, and the worldwide. As the only geomatics Department in Hong Kong, we are proud that we have trained the majority of manpower for the Hong Kong’s land surveying and geomatics industry. The Department is internationally well respected and it is in the highest rank among all the peer Departments around the globe.
