Pii the Band

P.ii (pronounced "Pie") is a 'virtual' band formed at the start of the Covid-19 crisis in 2020. Consisting of Craig Westwood, UK (singer/songwriter/guitar); Tim Ellifritz, USA (guitar/vocals); Dave Merkel, USA (keyboards); Peter Süoss, NL (Bass) and Patrick Peeters, BE (Drums). 

"Thinking On Your Own" is their first song, written in response to the selfishness and futility of the panic buying in the shops that Craig was hearing about on the UK news, and to try to inspire some positivity out of a situation that seemed to be getting more and more desperate. The song, posted on social media, was an encouragement to get people to look outside of their own predicament, and to see who else they could help.

It reached Tim Ellifritz, who then contacted Craig and said how much he loved it, and could he produce it, and invite a few more musicians to join in. Of course, the answer was “YES!”, and a band was formed. 

“Thinking On Your Own” was released on 31st July 2020. There is more to come.
