PCRG IIHR

This channel is for Pablo Carrica's Research Group (PCRG) at University of Iowa's IIHR. PCRG's research areas are:
- Two-phase flow modeling and numerical computation.
- Two-phase flow experimentation and instrumentation development.
- Computational ship hydrodynamics. Lead developer of the codes CFDShip-Iowa V4.5 and Magnus.
- Unsteady RANS and DES modeling of free surface flows.
- Wind turbine aerodynamics.

PCRG has developed its proprietary CFD code, REX.

REX is a Computational Ship Hydrodynamics code, now adapted for Wind Turbine Aerodynamics applications. It originated from the merging of Magnus and CFDShip-Iowa v4.5, CFD codes developed at The University of Iowa.

REX can model arbitrary motions of multiple bodies, enabling computations of multiple ships and submarines free or linked with cables. It uses structured multiblock overset grids with fully dynamic capabilities. The free surface is treated with a single-phase level set.
