Christopher Robin Cox TROMBONIST

A creative improvising trombonist, often with electronics.

I have been playing seriously since the early 1990s, with some notable breaks from the world of professional music along the way, including an extended hiatus between 2011 and 2021, during which time I earned graduate and postgraduate degrees. All that hard study of history, humanity, and the disastrous "isms" that have brought us to where we are today, led me to one clear-eyed conclusion: that what I really want to do - aside from writing and journaling - is to play the trombone. "Sometimes we must be dragged away from the comfort and familiarity of what we know, and toward the the discomfort and unfamiliarity of what we don't. Then, we establish new profound relationships with what we thought we knew before." This is what I wrote in my journal the day after I completed my PhD.

Now I realize I know nothing. I have perfected nothing. The rest of my life is about improvising. Contact me for collaboration.
