Welcome to Our Château Life.

We’re Lionel and Claire, a Franco-British couple sharing a life that is beautiful, chaotic, ambitious and frequently absurd.

Lionel is a former royal photographer and Claire is a landscape photographer. That shared love of people, places and storytelling shapes everything we create.

Together, we’re restoring our historic château in the French countryside. There are rooms to transform, projects to tackle and plans that rarely unfold as expected—but renovation is only one part of our story.

We also share our relationship, dogs, French life, wonderful food, fascinating people and adventures beyond the château gates. We explore hidden corners of France and, increasingly, places further afield.

Expect château projects, beautiful discoveries, impossible plans, occasional disasters and plenty of laughter.
