On The Recyard Women’s Prison Podcast is a women led podcast grounded in more than 30 years of lived experience inside Texas women’s prisons.

Hosted by formerly incarcerated women Marci Marie Simmons and Jennifer Toon, the show blends storytelling, sharp analysis, and current events commentary through the lens of lived experience. We talk incarceration, mental health, policy, and how decisions made far from prison walls shape real lives and communities.

Marci Marie Simmons is a storyteller and media creator and serves as Director of Communications at Lioness Justice Impacted Women’s Alliance. Jennifer Toon is a co founder and Executive Director of Lioness, with 27 years of system involvement and a background in policy and narrative change. Her work has been published in The Texas Observer, The Marshall Project, and The Guardian.
