Our guiding principle is that human beings are incomplete. Nature develops us only to the point where we can meet the basic demands for biological existence. But a candid look into our inner world shows we are puppets helplessly mobilized by invisible strings. As long as we are unaware of this, we lead an unexamined life of inner slavery no different than the animals. 

The School of the Old New Method is an active learning community for the study of oneself. It gives its members the tools and structure by which to embark on a comprehensive journey of self-observation. Its teaching breaks down human psychology into the building blocks that form who we are - our habits, illusions, weaknesses and strengths - and shows how these same blocks can be reconstructed to create a real Self, a governing element that can see the strings that mobilize our inner world, and master them.
