Old Bloke New Music

YouTube keeps filling my feed with reaction videos.

Young people discovering ELO's Mr Blue Sky, Gorillaz' Clint Eastwood. Americans discovering that Britain exists and Europe isn't a country...

Enough, already.

OLD BLOKE : NEW MUSIC is an old bloke listening, would you believe, to new music. New bands. New releases. Things I haven't already heard 600 times since 1977.

There will be opinions. There will be unreasonable comparisons with records made before some of the musicians were born. There will be diversions, bafflement, and the occasional deeply reluctant acknowledgement that something is actually rather good.

I'm not here to prove that 'music was better in my day.' Some of it, (actually, a lot of it) was godawful.

I'm here to find out whether you're making anything worth listening to in yours.

Go on then. Impress me.

And buy me coffee, you ungrateful whippersnapper
