Northwest Native American Legends

The traditional art and potlatch culture of Northwest coast Native people has experienced a resurgence in years, although many of the ancient stories are long forgotten.  Most people today are familiar with the totem poles, cedar canoes, and the dramatic dances, while the tales of the Raven, the Transformer and Mouse Woman have faded into obscurity.

This channel presents Northwest Native ancient stories which have not been heard for over a century, although they are the foundation of traditional knowledge.  Join us, as the traditional stories come to life in a series of videos, narrated by Kwakwaka’wakw master artist, David A. Neel.
