thank you for taking the time to check this. 
I grow because the need to learn how the plant behaves to certain things in my immediate environment because I thought it would be interesting to document that growth.

bad soil? yes. I wanted to see what a plant would look like if I grew from 'dirt dirt' and slowly upgrade from there. I live in the Karoo mate. 
yes, I can afford things. I can buy seed. i can afford a tent probably but I want to grow this way because not all of us have means to things and breaking things down to bare bones makes things easier to understand. 
Everyone grows beautiful plants. but they don't explain things. they don't help when you ask them a formula for things in your conditions. there is no information telling me things to what would happen if I did something in a certain way and why it would or wouldn't work. 
Information is out there yes. 
I like to take the longest route in the most difficult of conditions.
