National Medical stores was established as a Statutory Corporation in 1993 by Act of Parliament, under Chapter 207 of the Laws of Uganda

To Effectively & Efficiently supply Essential Medicines & Medical Supplies to Public Health Facilities in Uganda.

Mandate
To Procure, Store and Distribute

Activities
National Medical Stores is Mandated to Procure, Stores & Distribute Essential Medicines and Medical Supplies to all Public Health Facilities in the Country. This mandate then grew to serve 100% of government health facilities including the police, army and prisons. In August 2012 this mandate was further expanded to the distribute Vaccines across the country.
