Named by Spain

Every Spanish surname has a story and most people have never heard theirs.

We got curious about one question. Where do names like García, Rodríguez and Mendoza actually come from? So we started digging. Old villages in Spain, family trades, the meaning behind the ez at the end of millions of names, and stories that crossed the ocean and ended up in families all over America.

On this channel we share what we find, one name at a time. If you carry a Spanish surname, this channel is about you.
