MURASAKI SOUNDS

Welcome to Murasaki Sounds.

Murasaki (紫) is the colour between indigo and vermilion. It is also the hour between day and night. This channel lives in that in-between — the short, quiet time after something has ended and before the next thing has begun. Rain on the stone streets of Kyoto. Mist in a bamboo grove. The last light on a paper screen.

Traditional Japanese music for deep focus, meditation and sleep. Shakuhachi, koto and shamisen, played slowly, with long silences between the notes. In Japanese music that space is called MA, and it is not an absence. It is the other half of the music.

Use this sound for studying, working, reading, falling asleep, or letting the day go. Every video runs two to three hours, with no ads in the middle. Original music, composed for this channel.
