Mrs. Whitmore’s Housekeeping

My name is Mrs. Margaret Whitmore. I spent more than thirty years in domestic service, beginning in England’s country houses before later working for wealthy private families in America.

Over the years, I learned that the best-run homes aren’t maintained with endless expensive products or fashionable tricks. They rely on good habits, proper methods, a little discipline, and knowing where money is worth spending and where it simply isn’t.

I share the cleaning methods, household routines, laundry tricks, organising habits, money-saving ideas, and little secrets I picked up behind the doors of some very well-kept homes.

If you appreciate a clean, orderly home and practical advice that has stood the test of time, you’ll feel quite at home here.
