Mrs. Doris Nostalgia

I'm Mrs. Doris. For thirty-five years I stood behind a school lunch line in southern Ohio and fed four hundred kids a day.

I watched generations of children come through that cafeteria - carrying metal lunch boxes, trading cookies at the table, lining up for sloppy joes, chicken and noodles, homemade rolls, sheet cakes, casseroles and all those old school lunches you just don't see anymore.

And after all those years, I still remember the recipes, the little kitchen tricks, the smells coming from the ovens before the first bell rang, and the meals that could take you straight back to childhood with one bite.
