Positive Leadership Academy Podcast

You got promoted because you were good at the work. Then someone handed you a team, and nobody taught you how to lead it.

I’m Javier Llerena, executive coach and author of Recoded. For years I led through control. I used to close the meeting-room door on anyone who showed up a minute late, and I called that standards. Unlearning it is the reason this show exists.

On the Positive Leadership Academy Podcast, I sit down with leaders and coaches, and with people who learned leadership in unexpected places, like a horse barn or a company in crisis. I also share what I’m still working on myself.

Every episode is built for new and mid-level managers who want to lead through trust instead of pressure: giving feedback, running a 1:1, letting go of micromanaging, getting a quiet team to speak up.
