Mothers of the Nation band

Rosie McDonald & Cliona Molins were commissioned  by the Parramatta Female Factory friend inc.to write a song for the Bicentenary of the opening of the Female factory-  in Feb 2021 http://www.parramattafemalefactoryfriends.com.au/
     Cliona & Rosie spend much time researching  the stories of convict women of the early colony in Sydney, as well as their indigenous sisters , convict & free women Australia wide, & ended up writing 4 songs- the Suite  'Mothers of the Nation' which they recorded late 2020 with Bowen Shakallis, mastered by Andy Busittil- Blue Mountains sound .
The Mothers of the Nation band aims to rebalance the narrative & feature songs of women's strength & resilience with original and traditional songs by members of the band.
