Mitchum Yacoub

Mitchum Yacoub is an Egyptian-American producer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ  living in San Diego, CA. His sound is a vibrant stirring of rhythm and melody informed by global roots music and the natural world; Strong, repetitive grooves layered with Afro-Latin percussion and vibrant, tightly executed horn lines that call all dancers to the floor. His band has shared stages with Tinariwen, Thievery Corporation, The  Wailers, Jungle Fire, Etran de L'aïr, and Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto. He has toured with Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, also performing drum kit and congas with the band at the heart of the Afrobeat legacy. Currently crafting his second album, Yacoub is constantly digging, sharing, and crafting unique sounds to reach the spirit.
