Dr. Leigh Ann (Cates) McGlinn's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, TX. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, and Associates in Applied Science (AAS) - Nursing and Respiratory Care from Odessa College in Odessa, TX. She was trained as a simulation specialist at Stanford University’s Center for Advanced Pediatric Education (CAPE) and Harvard’s Institute for Medical Simulation and holds certification as a healthcare simulation educator (CHSE). She has over 30 years of total bedside experience with over 2 decades as a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP).  Dr. McGlinn has served as Assistant Professor in several NNP programs across the US. She owns McGlinn Institute Neonatal, LLC (www.McglinnInstitute.com) specializing in neonatal education, skills, and simulation to help protect the lives of tiny humans.
