This is my art journey. I started painting about 5 years ago. I started by taking classes at my local art league, which is kind of like a club. I took classes on basic drawing for a while and then started to play with different mediums. I use watercolor and charcoal and acrylic, but I've fallen in love with soft pastels. They're a really fun and beautiful medium. Soft pastels are dirty and they're messy. If you want to make big, bold gestures you can, or if you want to make small, subtle strokes, you can do that too. I've recently started looking at ways of engaging with people with my art and one way in which I'm going to try is to start recording myself painting. My hope is that someone watching will see what I'm doing and think "wow, I'd like to try that" or "I bet I could do that", and you can. So go out there and create something.
