Marva Gadsden

My name is Marva Gadsden, and I was raised on the Sea Islands of the South Carolina Lowcountry — Gullah-Geechee country, where the rice fields meet the tide and the food carries four hundred years of memory in every pot.

This channel is not just about recipes. It's a record. Every dish I show you here — the ones your grandmother made, the ones nobody writes down anymore — is a piece of a story that almost got lost. Stories about scarcity turned into ingenuity. About Saturday night fish fries and Sunday morning church kitchens. About a people the world called poor, who never once called themselves that at their own table.
