Lowell Center for the Arts

The Lowell Center for the Arts (LCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and rehabilitation of the long-vacant Smith Baker Center, a prominent historic building in Lowell, Massachusetts (built in 1884). Once restored, the facility will house 2 performing arts venues, flexible rehearsal and classroom spaces, community gathering spaces, art galleries, commercial food service, and a culinary arts incubator. It is the mission of the LCA to preserve Lowell’s past, enhance Lowell’s present, and build Lowell’s future through arts, culture, and community engagement.

The LCA is designed to meet a documented community need for accessible space for the performing, visual, and culinary arts while preserving an architecturally/historically significant public asset, and driving economic and cultural  development.
