Lisa Cerda Fernandez

Hola! I'm a Chilean-Peruvian filmmaker raised between Florida and Valparaíso. I'm an award-winning screenwriter, director, and producer who has served on the screenplay reading committee for the Atlanta Film Festival and worked as a Basecamp Production Assistant for MGM Studios. My latest horror-romance short film, La Santería, has screened at festivals across the U.S and won awards along the way. I'm currently developing another short film, which will be released in 2027.

I gravitate toward Latina characters who are messy, determined, complex, and armed with a sharp wit. Through my work, I hope to expand the kinds of stories we see on screen, giving women of color the freedom to be more than a stereotype or a supporting role, but the driving force behind stories as bold and multifaceted as they are.
