Life With Old Dogs is about caring for aging dogs, but also about the life we build around them and the ways they change us in return.

I’m Dawn Mimnaugh, founder of Woody’s Place Senior German Shepherd Sanctuary. For almost two decades, I’ve devoted much of my life to caring for senior dogs.

Here, I share practical guidance on nutrition, home-cooked meals, mobility, arthritis, cognitive changes, holistic wellness, enrichment, quality of life, and aging with dignity.

But this channel goes beyond senior dog care. I also share sanctuary life, AuDHD, childhood trauma, relationships, personal growth, and the many ways dogs have helped ground, heal, and shape me.

While my experience began with senior German Shepherds, much of what I share applies to older dogs of every breed.

Part education, part sanctuary life, and part personal story.
