The conservation history of the Iberian lynx.

Welcome to the YouTube channel “The Conservation History of the Iberian Lynx: 20 Years of LIFE Projects.”

Through 20 episodes, we will explore the successful recovery of the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus), tracing its journey from prehistory to the present day. In the early 21st century, the population dwindled to just over 90 individuals, placing the species in critical danger of extinction. Thanks to conservation efforts, especially the LIFE projects, the Iberian lynx has overcome this challenge, reaching over 2,500 individuals and changing its status to “vulnerable” according to the IUCN. This story has become a benchmark and model for the conservation of other endangered species.

This work has become a reference in social cohesion and efficient resource management for a common good: saving our lynx, unique in the world.
