LBO Hessen

The Symphonic State Concert Band of the Hessian Gymnastics Union (Sinfonisches Landesblasorchester des Hessischen Turnverbands; short: LBO Hessen) was founded in 1992. Ever since, it has worked with many well-known conductors and composers, such as Pierre Kuijpers or Thomas Doss.

The LBO wants to demonstrate its listeners the vast spectrum and variety of symphonic wind band music and to enthrall them for this kind of music. Its 55 musicians take the experiences they gather during rehearsels with the LBO to their orchestras back home and thereby give new ideas and impulses for their musical work.

The LBO is sponsored by the Hessian Gymnastics Union (HTV). Further support is proviced by a friends' association which is open to all of the orchestras' fans and friends.
