Warhistory told by the Finnish WW2 veterans

Our warhistory channel is dedicated to the brave Finns, who stood up against invasions by the soviet union. Against all odds, the Finns managed to stop the invaders, twice! So what happened and how?

The "Winterwar" took place 1939-1940. Molotov-Ribbertropp (secret) pact "gave" Finland and Baltic states to stalin. Tiny Finland was a peaceful, neutral country when red army attacked. Finland was alone. Miracuously Finland did not get annexed, in contrary to the Baltics.

The "Continuation war" took place 1941-1944. Despite invading and sharing Poland together, stalin and hitler were no longer partners in crime. hitler wanted more and it fitted Finland well. Unfortunately it didn`t succeed. Due to the 1944 truce terms,  Finns had to force the Germans out in the 1945 "Lapland war". It was a bitter deal, but for the Finns, these wars were fought to stay independent. It was achieved, but with a great cost. Finland will always rebember it`s heroes!
