KM Sailing

We're Kai and CC, and we sail Hǎitún, our 2000 Prout 38 catamaran, from a marina in Chichester Harbour on the south coast of England.

We bought her in May 2026 after she'd been sitting unused for a couple of years. Since then we've replaced all her rigging, added a staysail, taken her hulls back to epoxy and applied Coppercoat, and relined and reupholstered her interior. We show the costs, the mistakes and what we'd do differently.

Kai is a former sailmaker who has been sailing since he was eight. CC is new to sailing and studying for her Day Skipper. Expect practical maintenance for older catamarans, seamanship you can use on your next sail around the Solent and the Channel, and honest life afloat.

New videos every Thursday.
