I’m Kate Van Doren, an artist and art therapist exploring healing, human connection, and our relationship to the earth through Empathic Realism, painting, photography, film, and collaborative storytelling.

The Healing Words Project is a global art initiative of over 2,000 women and gender-expansive voices integrating neuroscience-informed creative practices, portraiture, photography, and collaborative artwork. Participants share their own self-authored healing journeys, reflections, and intentional words, woven into artworks exploring resilience, grief, hope, identity, and collective humanity.

Together, we invite viewers into a space of reflection and connection — recognizing that healing is possible.
