Karaj Awazy / Voice of the Karaite

The first podcast about the Karaites of Lutsk – an indigenous people of Ukraine whose homeland is Crimea. Karaite communities also existed in other cities, and in Lutsk they lived for centuries. In five episodes, we explore the life of the community in Volyn, their traditions, language, and the people of this enigmatic Turkic nation. The title “Karaj Awazy” refers to a magazine of the same name published in Lutsk between 1931 and 1938.
