Kajos - Fierce Contemporary Folk Music

Kajos is a fierce contemporary folk music band whose music cherishes runosong tradition, folklore, rituals and nature’s ancient wisdom from Baltic Finnic peoples.

The realm of nature’s power is voiced through earth rooted sky anchoring spells, primal and mysterious vocal art, bird- and herding calls, soul-stirring cello melodies and heartbeat rooted electro-acoustic rhythms crystallising into alchemy of the Kajos experience.

Kajos live lineup consists of Sini Koskelainen, an award-winning vocalist-composer (from e.g. Tuuletar), cellist Susanna Syrjäläinen and percussionist Oskari Lehtonen that performed e.g. at the TUSKA Festival 2026. Kajos debut single ‘Nouse Lempi’ released in 2025, has been streamed over 200,000 times in 70 different countries. It has also played on both domestic and international radio programs.
