Friends and Decendants of Johnson's Island

The Friends and Descendants of Johnson's Island Civil War Prison's (FDJI) mission is dedicated to the preservation of the Johnson's Island Prisoner of War Depot, a National Historic Landmark located in Sandusky Bay, Lake Erie, Ohio. FDJI maintains the property for present and future archaeological and historical research, education, and interpretive uses. The 17 acres of the prison compound and Fort Johnson are the only acres of the prison preserved besides the 2 acres owned by the Federal Government protecting the cemetery.
