Occasionally an original band comes along with an original sound. A band that has the technique, creativity, and musicality to make some musical magic. With Johnny Lex and The Allies (JLA) the stars have aligned, and the perfect pieces have fallen into place.
Feel the raw emotion through Johnny’s rich vocal delivery. Songs are complemented by Ben’s “Mad Scientist of the Keys” arrangements, and Dan’s violin work ranging from subtle sweetness to wild shredding. David’s global percussion keeps things glued together for this “misfit orchestra” to deliver what you will discover as true musical genius.
JLA is something very new, reminiscent of the Zac Brown Band and Steely Dan. Bruce Cockburn or Robbie Robertson may also come to mind. Poetry set in hyper motion might be an accurate description of this band’s originals. Covers given the JLA treatment sound fresh and reenergized.
