The Japanese Experience

Follow me as I live and travel around Japan, experiencing the Japanese people, culture, food and all the weird, lost in translation moments this island has to offer.

My name is John and I'm from Britain, and I love Japan.  And sashimi, I LOVE sashimi.

I live in Okinawa, Japan, the southern most tip of this island chain.  Okinawa has one of the highest life expectancies in the world and I've never met such happier people.  These tiny islands are packed with culture and life, some the music of the Sanshin and Eisa, culinary delights like like Rafute, Okinawa Soba and Umibudo, Crafts, History, Folklore, Beaches, Blue Water and Coral Reefs, Okinawans and a vitality and passion like no other.  You think you know Japanese culture, come and see the Okinawan way of life in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
