John Downing Music

I'm John Downing, a solo acoustic guitarist and singer based in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. I play corporate events, country club functions, and resort events across North Carolina and the Southeast.

The videos here are songs from my list, recorded at events and in the studio, so planners can hear what I actually sound like before booking. The list runs from the 1950s to today: classic rock, soul, country, 90s, and current hits.

My job at an event is to serve it, not to put on my own show. That usually means easy background music through cocktails and dinner, and a sing-along later if the room wants one.

I've played Pinehurst Resort, Bald Head Island Club, and the World Golf Hall of Fame. I work directly with clubs and planners and alongside agencies and DMCs.
