JaySmart | Woodturning & Cutting Boards

Rough logs turned into finished pieces on the lathe, plus handmade cutting boards built from start to finish.

I'm Jay, a woodturner in Charlotte, NC. Most of my wood is cracked, crooked or forgotten, like eastern red cedar logs, offcuts and firewood-pile finds. I turn that into vases, bowls and boards you can actually use.

No speed-ups and no fake cuts. You see the real process at real speed: the gouge in the wood, the shavings flying and the heartwood showing up for the first time. Good for learning, relaxing, or just watching wood change shape.
