Who are we beneath everything we have been taught to be? How do our histories, relationships, communities, and the institutions we inherit shape who we become? What becomes possible when we understand these influences well enough to choose differently?

I’m Dr. Jae, a community psychologist, researcher, author, and poet exploring the complexities of being human. Through research-informed conversations, lived experience, and reflection, we examine identity, emotional intelligence, healing, relationships, spirituality, Black history and culture, social justice, and the forces shaping our lives.

PettiPerspective is a space for curiosity, critical thinking, self-discovery, and meaningful dialogue. Together, we question familiar narratives, examine uncomfortable truths, and consider new perspectives on who we are, how we came to be, and who we have the capacity to become.
