For many years, the Institute of Lightweight Systems has been developing extremely lightweight, high-precision structures made from fibre-reinforced composites, while continuously researching ways to enhance efficiency in manufacturing and operation. Our focus is on sustainable lightweight technology for aerospace: by integrating various functions into load-bearing structures, we save weight and resources, thus improving environmental compatibility. With our creative scientists based in Braunschweig and Stade, we bridge the gap between fundamental research and industrial application – from innovative ideas to practical implementation.
