The Inner Academic with Victoria & Elizabeth

Welcome to The Inner Academic with Victoria Fontana and Elizabeth Odders-White!

As coaches who work with a wide range of academic clients—and as past higher-ed professionals ourselves—we are keenly aware of the challenges academics face every day, and we want to get honest and open about those.

We created the Inner Academic because we’ve learned from our own experience and from our work with clients that, given all the external pressures, thriving in academia starts from the inside out. In each episode, we explore a question or struggle we frequently hear from clients—not to offer one-size-fits-all solutions, but to help you feel less alone, broaden your perspective, and discover new possibilities for moving forward.

Wherever you are in this moment, we're glad you're here.
