Imperial Data Center

Imperial County is set to become the West Coast’s premier AI hub with a new **330-megawatt data center**, the largest in California. This **$10 billion private investment** will generate significant tax revenue, thousands of construction jobs, and permanent high-quality roles, all while catalyzing local geothermal energy development.

### Key Project Benefits
* **Zero Taxpayer Cost:** The developer is funding 100% of infrastructure upgrades, including a **$80 million** on-site substation.
* **Grid Resilience:** Operating on "non-firm" electricity, the facility can transition to on-site battery storage during peak demand, allowing the IID to prioritize residential power.
* **Water Positive:** Using only reclaimed water, the facility will replenish **six times** the amount of water it consumes.

This transformative project drives massive economic growth and expands the tax base, securing Imperial County’s leadership in the global AI infrastructure landscape.
