Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Association

Ileostomy & Internal Pouch Association (IA) supports people living with an ileostomy or internal pouch, their families, friends and carers. Started in 1956, as the first UK stoma support group, IA offers guidance and support, pre and post bowel surgery to manage conditions such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, cancer, FAP, bowel motility, and trauma. IA has a local presence throughout the UK and Ireland, managed by volunteers who themselves living with an ileostomy or an internal pouch. 

IA offers a unique visiting service (offering the patient or family/friend/carer the opportunity to speak with someone else who has had surgery), focused literature and a network of support through online forums, social media and a local support group presence.
