Houston Ryan White Planning Council

The Houston Ryan White Planning Council (RWPC) is a volunteer planning group comprised of community members who have been appointed to serve a two-year term.   Funded by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009, the RWPC is responsible for activities under Ryan White Part A.  

Council members, in collaboration with consumers, service providers, and others determine what services are most needed by people living with HIV in the Houston area.  The Council prioritizes services and decides the best way to allocate Houston’s grant award to fund the services. The Council also provides input in determining the Standards of Care for funded service categories and for developing a Comprehensive Plan to provide those services.

The Council does not directly fund agencies.  The Administrative Agent (Harris County Public Health Ryan White Grant Administration) is responsible for contracting with agencies to provide services.
