Hogs and Hens Urban Farm

Welcome to Hogs & Hens Urban Farm—where we’re proving you don’t need acres of land to grow real food, build resilience, and live a regenerative life.

I’m Heather Butler—Certified Permaculture Designer, author, speaker, and urban homesteader based in Dayton, Ohio. Alongside my husband Bob, we’ve transformed compacted, often contaminated city soil into a thriving urban food system filled with gardens, animals, and abundance.

This channel is your go-to resource for:
• Permaculture design (practical + real-life application)
• Urban homesteading on a budget
• Soil regeneration—even in clay and poor soils
• Growing food in small spaces
• Raising chickens, quail, and rabbits responsibly
• Herbal remedies and food as medicine
• DIY systems using recycled and low-cost materials

We believe in:
Regenerating earth, one backyard at a time.

If you’ve ever been told “you can’t grow food there”…
we’re here to show you that you absolutely can.
