Gurez Valley:
Gurez Valley is a picturesque and remote valley located in the northeastern part of Jammu and Kashmir, India, close to the border with Pakistan. It lies in the Bandipora district and is situated at an elevation of around 8,000 feet above sea level. The valley is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, dense forests, and gushing rivers like the Dawar River. Gurez is home to the Gujjar and Bakerwal tribes, who are traditionally nomadic shepherds. The valley has a rich history, with traces of ancient civilizations, and it is known for its biodiversity, including rare wildlife species such as the Himalayan brown bear. Due to its proximity to the border, Gurez Valley remains largely isolated and less explored by tourists.
