This channel traces a chapter of my work. As video moved from television to mobile devices and streaming, it remained linear and passive: you could play, pause, rewind or skip, but not search inside it or explore the people, places and ideas it contained.

I first designed second-screen experiences in which the mobile screen continued the programme while opening its context. As viewing shifted to on-demand platforms, I brought that experience into the replay: programmes became searchable, navigable and adaptable to each viewer’s interests and time.

Making these experiences richer also made them harder to produce manually. I co-founded Synchronized to turn this work into products that could operate at scale. I directed the vision and product design; our teams built the software and AI systems. Studio combined authoring, AI-assisted analysis and editorial control. We later applied this model to segmentation, thumbnails and advertising breaks.

These videos document that progression.
