GnuSarajevo

GNU is a heavy metal / hard rock band from Sarajevo, formed in 1994, under siege, but disbanded in 1996, shortly after the war. Now, after 23 years of silence, GNU is back!

GNU was formed in war-time Sarajevo in 1994, under siege, by Nermin Lipa (vocals, guitars), Mirza Ćorić (guitars) and Adnan Duraković (drums). The band was active until the end of the war and was disbanded in 1996, having performed many concerts, including the legendary Rock Under The Siege which was held in Sarajevo, January 14th 1995. The band shortly after recorded the album 'State of Misery' which was finished on May 10th 1995, but was never properly released.

THE REUNION

In early 2019, 23 years after disbanding, Nermin Lipa, Mirza Ćorić and Adnan Duraković decided to come back as GNU.
With a new member, Džemal Bijedić on bass, the band started re-recording some of the classic tracks from the period of 1994-1996.
